This book is a true testimony of what Evangelism is all about and it shows you early on in the book how Des Sinclair was firstly imprisoned and then miraculously released from prison. In an extraordinary series of events brilliantly written you are taken on a journey. The author somehow has the ability to create pictures in your mind making you feel you are actually part of the story…

This man Des Sinclair has been through persecution and physical trauma because of extraordinary forces working against him; and it soon becomes very clear that equally there is another extraordinary force working in his life and rescuing him from these situations. To the non-believer you will not be left in any doubt that God‟s perfect grace and love conquers all.

This book is so empowering that I was filled with the Holy Spirit whilst turning the pages! You find it hard to put down and return to menial tasks, because there is an urgency to know what happens next…The book itself is very easy to read and chapters are interestingly opened with either sub-titles or scripture.

In conclusion this spirit-filled book opens your mind and touches your heart to what really is going on in Des & Ros‟s walk in the world of Evangelism. As the enemy comes in the Lord time after time lifts up His standard against him, and gives the reader a deeper meaning of God‟s love and protection, and how His plans and His Will for his children will stand even through all the hardships.

I was diagnosed with cancer at the base of my tongue and completed at 36 treatment course of radiotherapy. On 26.02.2010 I was in a dreadful condition. My face and neck badly burnt, unable to speak, only grunt. Unable to swallow food and fluids, as weak as a kitten. Within two weeks I was taken into hospital and had a saline drip in my arm for seven days. A Christian friend came to visit me, a retired midwife. She brought me a present, strictly on loan, insisting she must have it back, a book for me to read. So for seven days I lay on my back and read the most amazing, wonderful book, “LIFE ON THE LINE”, AMAZING, on the eighth day I escaped and came home, during that week my skin had beautifully regrown, I could speak, but still unable to swallow food or fluids. Two weeks later I had an appointment with a consultant, who pressed on the cancer at the base of my tongue and pronounced, “the cancer has gone, the radiotherapy has worked.” We know that God has performed a miracle! Life On The Line is absolutely mind blowing!!! The power of God hit me on several occasions reading the book – the miracles, the passion for evangelism, the journey to Heaven and the compassion Christ has for every soul. It encourages me to work for no reward on earth – that Jesus sees what we do and pray. I was profoundly convicted and a Godly fear came over me when you write on page 153 about Des and Pastor Zuli on the rubbish dump “would reach out to those nobody wanted – those closest to God’s heart” that my friend deeply scares me about the overwhelming mercy and compassion Christ has for the despised in society. How do i compare in comparison?! It also gave me great insight into the demonic struggle on earth and the role of angels and the power of worship to unleash angelic protection. All i can do is be speechless for the lost and sing praise to Almighty God. This book has done the Body of Christ such a great service – the many many many hours you must have spent piecing together the story of a man who in life and spirit will not be pinned down! WOW – This book was fantastic. It totally blew my mind. I found it riveting so much that I just couldn’t get away from it or put it down. I read this book in two days I was so fixed on it. The adrenaline, excitement, danger and emotion involved. I found the content on both heaven and hell was AMAZING and a real eye opener! I also found it amazing how God can so freely speak to each one of us and how he is always there – when we least expect it. Even when in the book when Des’s life was truly “On the Line” getting away from guerilla soldiers in Ghana, and radical Muslims in Mali – God was still with him, protecting him, encouraging him – so many times throughout this book in so many ways. “Life on The Line” has put my understanding of God and relationship with him to a new all time high. THIS BOOK IS THE BEST I HAVE EVER READ, as the contents is so vast in so many of the different stories involved in this one man’s life – yet all have the same theme coming through… God will never leave us or forsake us. WOW – We serve a mighty God! This book is amazing, a must read and a must share with friends and family. It is easy reading and very light, an autobiography – yet written in a novel form to make understanding for the reader so much better. I know I will never be the same!!

I read in Joy Magazine how Des was thrown into jail, awaiting the death penalty and how the book of Acts came alive because Jesus is alive! He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He never changes. Then as I read about the one prisoner who accepted Jesus and the other who denied Him, I was taken back to the CROSS. I wept and cried. It’s all about His presence.
